Mel Harrigan
Mel Harrigan is a professional multi-instrumentalist originally from Kawartha Lakes, Ontario, now living, performing, and teaching in Sheet Harbour, Nova Scotia. From a young age, she developed a deep love for music, beginning with a passion for Celtic traditions that continue to influence her sound today.
Mel is best known for her skill on the violin/fiddle, but her musical talents extend to ukulele, guitar, drums, and piano. Her versatility as a multi-instrumentalist has led to numerous performance and teaching opportunities throughout her career. She is currently the fiddle player and a vocalist with The Connors Brothers, bringing energy and authenticity to every performance. Alongside her band work, Mel is also working on her first solo fiddle album, set to be released later this year. Music is truly a family affair for Mel—her husband plays guitar alongside her, and together they are raising their seven children in a home filled with music.
